REVIEW SO FAR
I was a big fan of Darksiders and I've been waiting a very long time for Darksiders II to be released. Everything about the game instantly made me enjoy it. The game art and story were all compelling. Of course I had a few gripes with the controls of Darksiders, but other than that I loved it.
Something I was concerned about when it came to Darksiders II is how similar it would play to the original. As soon as I started playing the game I found that the main protagonist Death played very different from his brother War. The climbing puzzles and overall movement of the character feels much smoother than the previous game.
The character customization is much greater in Darksiders II. With the new implementation of possessed weapons you can now feed other weapons to the possessed weapons to level them up and give them more power. I can't comment much more on the different possessed weapons because I'm only in the early stages of the game. But, I'm on the 3rd dungeon in the game and so far the customization is amazing. The different armors and secondary weapons look great and it ads so much personality to the game and character. I have yet to see a piece of armor or a weapon skin that I didn't like.
I can't stress enough how much I enjoy the art of the game. This time around I'm glad to see several different environments this time around ranging from fire temples to water temples and wide open plains. The open world of Darksiders too is a great addition to the game. There are tons of sidequests to participate in and several collectible missions you can partake in and a larger bunch of skills to purchase. The combat is much more fluid in Darksiders II and the feel of destroying multiple enemies with a single hammer smash is so satisfying.
I'll have a full review once I finish the game and if you want to join me in my playthrough then feel free to follow my live stream at twitch.tv/speshylt808 to check out the game and chat it up with some of regular viewers!
